Bandung, November 18, 2025 - Satria Muda Pertamina Bandung officially announces that Avan Seputra will not be continuing with the club for the IBL 2025/2026 Season. This decision marks the conclusion of a long 13-year journey, since Avan first joined Satria Muda on September 25, 2012, the first year he wore the number 25, symbolizing the start of his professional career. Since graduating from IPH Surabaya and having the opportunity to play for the Indonesia U-18 National Team alongside long-time stalwarts such as Kevin Yonas, Kristian Liem, and Laurentius Steven Oei, Avan has grown to become one of the most consistent and loyal players in the club's history.
Avan's career with Satria Muda spanned critical phases of the club's development and the national basketball competition. He was a part of the team across various eras and generations: NBL 2015 (Champion), 2017 Finals, IBL 2018 (Champion), IBL 2021 (Champion), up to IBL 2022 (Champion). In 2019, Avan was once again called upon to strengthen the Indonesian National Team for the SEA Games in the Philippines.
In 2024, he participated in an athlete development program in Houston, Texas, before returning to Satria Muda and joining the National Team's preparations for the 2025 SEA Games in Thailand. His presence for over a decade established Avan as a "one-man club," a figure who grew, developed, and contributed consistently from his first day until his last day with the club.
This season, Avan also delivered a stand-out performance against Bali United Basketball at Britama Arena, Jakarta. Appearing as a starter after a season-long hiatus, he was one of the most efficient players on the court and recorded significant offensive contributions.
Avan was the team's top scorer with 21 points in 20 minutes and 11 seconds. He entered the IBL record books after making seven out of seven three-pointers, in addition to one assist, one steal, and zero turnovers. This performance underscored that his quality and sharp shooting remain intact, while also demonstrating Avan's maturity as a senior player.
In his official statement, Avan shared a warm reflection on his journey. "During my 13 years with Satria Muda, we always met halfway and went through an extraordinary journey. Now it is time for me to part ways, but the family and friendly relationships will remain. I am grateful for the basketball and life experiences I gained with Satria Muda. I hope Satria Muda continues to be a club with high standards and produces talented players. We might meet as opponents next season, but in my opinion, that is the beauty of the basketball world—sometimes opponents, but for Satria Muda, I will always be a friend," Avan said.
He also fondly recalled his time with Satria Muda Pertamina Bandung. "It was a happy experience to feel and briefly enjoy Satria Muda's new chapter in Bandung. I am grateful to conclude my journey in Bandung by contributing to a victory, and I hope Satria Muda Pertamina Bandung continues to be the pride of Bandung and West Java."
Satria Muda Pertamina Bandung Head Coach, Youbel Sondakh, added his view on the farewell. "Avan is one of the players who grew up with this club. We are certainly sad about this separation because he is an important part of the team's identity, but at the same time, we are thankful for the hard work and commitment he showed over the years. His departure leaves a feeling of sadness, but we fully support his new steps in his career."
From the management side, Managing Director of Satria Muda Pertamina Bandung, Ronaldo “Dodo” Sitepu, offered similar praise. "I knew Avan from his early days when he was still spoiled and difficult to talk to, until today, he has become a mature, disciplined, and very diligent player in every process. He is a hard worker, down-to-earth, close to his family, and, funnily enough, afraid of cats. My hope is that, even if he moves teams, Avan continues to demonstrate the standard of skill and mentality of a Satria Muda player in his new place. Good luck, Van."
