The Satria Muda coaching staff immediately moved quickly to find their best foreign composition a few hours after releasing Randy Bell. It didn't take long for the choice to fall on their former player Artem Pustovyi. The Ukrainian national team player is confirmed to return to strengthen the team that is identical to the color blue after his season ended in the Spanish league with Joventut Badalona some time ago.
"The main factor why we called Artem back is clearly because to patch the vacancy in the bigman position. Because as we know, several of our games without a bigman have quite an impact on our game scheme. Also, we already know Artem and we are also very satisfied with his game last season," said Satria Muda head coach, Youbel Sondakh.
Youbel also explained that he is still very confident that Artem will remain dominant even though he came when the league was almost over. The man from Manado also believes that Artem is still the right person to help SM achieve its targets this season.
"Now I definitely hope he can quickly get back in tune with our system here. Because time is running out and this week he also has to compete so once again I hope he can immediately help us win these important games. But once again I have no doubts about his quality and adaptation process," he concluded.
Artem himself when met while doing a photo session with Satria Muda yesterday, said that he was very happy to be able to strengthen the team from North Jakarta again. The man who once led Barcelona to become the champion of the Spanish league in the 2021 season can't wait to feel the atmosphere of the Indonesian basketball league again this week.
"It's amazing that I can have the opportunity to wear the Satria Muda uniform again. And of course my hope is that we can hold the championship trophy this season after last season we almost achieved it. And I'm very ready for that, helping SM to be the best. One more thing, I also really miss every shout and support from the SM Fanatics when we compete. They are extraordinary and I can't wait to meet them again this week," he concluded.
