Satria Muda Pertamina finally managed to advance to the semifinals of the Indonesian basketball league this season when they managed to beat Kesatria Bengawan Solo (KBS) with an aggregate of 2-1. KBS itself made things difficult for the team based in Kelapa Gading after stealing victory in game 2. However, Abraham Damar Grahita et al managed to comeback in the deciding match with a landslide victory 98-68.

Satria Muda head coach Youbel Sondakh said that the team had done the right thing after being shocked by KBS's revival in game 2. This discipline factor was ultimately one of the factors in their victory in the match which was held at the Sritex Arena Solo.

“The first thing we do is make adjustments to our defense. After yesterday's match of course there had to be adjustments from many sides and thank God the children were able to do it well. "Then we also pay more attention to individuals belonging to KBS, of course the aim is so that they cannot score points easily like yesterday, and again that can happen which ultimately leads to a semifinal ticket for us," he said.

Youbel also specifically expressed his appreciation to the KBS team for their achievements this season. The debut team, which is identical to the color yellow, immediately qualified for the playoffs after successfully finishing above SM in the final standings of IBL 2024.

"I have high respect for KBS because they gave us a tough match for their extraordinary season," he continued.

Satria Muda Pertamina's two away matches also witnessed the return of Juan Laurent Kokodiputra's performance, because as we know, the performance of the man from Bandung has been slack in the last few games.

"Of course it's really nice to be able to score points again, but the most important thing is also to be able to give victory to Satria Muda. I think tickets to the semifinals are also a factor that increases confidence for me and all the players at SM. And hopefully we can continue to be consistent until the end," said Juan.

With Satria Muda Pertamina qualifying for the semifinals this season, they have equaled last season's achievements. And currently the team that has won 12 league titles will be waiting for an opponent between Dewa United and Borneo Hornbills. (FR)
