Satria Muda Pertamina (SMP) did not achieve perfect results in the last 4 matches in the continuation of this season's IBL. The team with the blue color was able to win convincingly over Dewa United and Pacific Caesar but lost to Rans and Kesatria Bengawan Solo (KBS). However, even so, they have several good records, one of which is the rebirth of Juan Laurent Kokodiputra.
Juan was able to perform well to cover the hole left by Warren Washington who had to end the season early due to injury. Together with Nash and Julian, this player from Bandung worked together to maintain the defense and score points.
In total, Juan collected 50 points from 4 games and once touched a three-point percentage of up to 71% when playing against KBS. This performance made him once again bear the nickname Sniper-Ju by Indonesian basketball fans.
"Thank God I was able to perform well in several matches yesterday, even though the results were not perfect but I am sure that we at SM have tried our best to win. And now it is time for us to practice again and come back stronger for the next game," said Juan.
Juan explained that his performance on the field was certainly the result of his hard work during training. He always believes that efforts made seriously will have commensurate results.
"Actually there is no secret, I just try my best during training hours. In addition, I also continue to keep in touch with Coach Guillermo Martin in Spain. He provides special programs for me, both technically and physically, besides that he always supports me if I play less well. Then I also often do additional training myself by renting my own field near my house and finally of course also honing my skills with Coach Will in training," he said.
"Then I also have to have the mindset that whatever position Coach Youbel gives me, I have to do it well. Whether as a center, or a power-forward, I have to do it all well," he added.
When asked what his hopes are for the next games that Satria Muda will face, Juan answered that he is optimistic that they will be able to achieve the best results later.
"For me personally, I certainly hope that I can continue to be consistent with my performance in the last few games and of course it would be better if it improves. But the most important thing is that I hope Satria Muda can continue to win until the end," concluded the man who has collected 3 league championship titles with SMP. (FR)
