Satria Muda Pertamina (SMP) finally welcomed their newest piece to continue their journey in the Indonesian basketball league this season in the name of Reynaldo Garcia Zamora. This player who plays as a point guard came to replace Trey Davis who was forced to leave due to injury some time ago.
Satria Muda head coach Youbel Sondakh said that the basis for selecting the player nicknamed The Panther was one of the reasons he had rich experience playing in various foreign leagues which of course would play a role in his adaptation to the junior high school team.
"He's the type of player whose defense is good, which is something we still have to improve on to this day. "Then he is also a typical player who is determined and not afraid to play physically during offense, so I think he is a complete player and is suitable for us at the moment," he said.
When asked when he would start fielding Reynaldo, Youbel answered as soon as possible because SMP really needed his role to get back to winning ways this week.
"I'm sure his body is ready because as far as I know he has just finished his season with Saga Ballooners in the Japanese league. "So you shouldn't be too surprised to play again immediately," continued Youbel.
Reynaldo, when met after his first training with the Satria Muda team, said that he was very proud to be able to join a team as big as Satria Muda and of course couldn't wait to make his debut match this week.
“Of course I am very excited about playing a new chapter in my basketball career now with Satria Muda, a great team with a strong winning tradition. "And I hope that my arrival will be able to help Satria Muda in pursuing the title and also help the local players in this team to develop further in the future," said Reynaldo.
Reynaldo himself will wear the number 24 jersey at SM Pertamina and of course is expected to be able to appear in the back to back matches this week on 24-25 against Amarta Hangtuah and Rans Bogor at Pertamina Arena Simprug. (FR)
