A few days after bringing in Wendell Lewis, Satria Muda Pertamina has again received an additional foreign legion to face this season in the name of Le’Bryan Keithdrick Nash. The presence of the basketball player who plays as a small forward is certainly expected to be able to increase SM Pertamina’s striking power considering his consistent experience and ability last season with Rans Bogor.
“Yes, I already know his playing style, and he is also familiar with the league here. Also last season he was one of the main actors in bringing Rans to the playoffs. Physically he is also strong which means of course he can provide more energy and determination for SM on the field later. Then statistically he is also the type who can score points and players like that are what I need right now,' said SM Pertamina head coach Youbel Sondakh.
When asked whether SM is not afraid that there will be many opposing team players who already know how to shut down Nash's movements considering that last year he played in many matches with Rans. Youbel said no because according to him, different teams have different systems, so he believes that with SM, the American man will find a new and different playing style.
"What is certain is that he is an experienced player, so I think he can definitely handle it. As time goes by, he will definitely adapt to SM's system and pattern. So I don't think it's a big problem for him," he continued.
"And I also hope that he will quickly blend in with the kids here, quickly understand our playing style so that when the league starts, he and all SM elements are in tune so just go with the gas," he concluded.
With the presence of Le'Bryan Nash, SM Pertamina is only waiting for one more foreign player to complete their roster this season. And one last name is also scheduled to arrive this December.
