Satria Muda Pertamina Bandung remains undefeated in their first three matches of the 2025 All Indonesia Cup in Solo. Equipped with the addition of Yudha Saputera, Pandu Wiguna, and Kelvin Sanjaya, Satria Muda dominated against Rajawali Medan, Bima Perkasa, Tangerang Hawks, and Borneo Hornbills.
"Yes, the first match with a new team is certainly not easy, even though I know some of them well and have played for the national team before, but I still need to adapt. I've only been here for two weeks, so I still have to find my rhythm and, most importantly, build chemistry with all the players here," said Yudha after the first match against Rajawali last week.
Satria Muda head coach Youbel Sondakh agreed. According to the Manado native, chemistry is one of their biggest challenges. Besides the limited time, it's also not something that can be built quickly.
"But I'm confident this chemistry will improve with each game because these new players are national team-caliber and solid. We still have some homework to do, especially in defense. As you can see from the Hawks match, our defense and aggressive rebounding were far from perfect, and this will remain a challenge we must find solutions to in the coming games," Youbel said after the match against the Hawks.
When asked about Satria Muda's current playing style, which is now predominantly using combo guards, Youbel explained that besides the arrival of Yudha, it's also because they are still searching for the best form and lineup for this tournament.
"The point is, we're trying out all the patterns and systems we have in this tournament. We've even used not just combo guards but also triple guards with Yudha, Widy, and Bram, sometimes Erga. There are still some gaps here and there, but I'm confident we can overcome them because, as I said, these new players are some of the best individuals we have right now," he concluded.
Next, Satria Muda will still face two tough matches against Pacific Caesar (22/8) and Dewa United (24/8).
