Satria Muda Pertamina continues to show an increasing graph in team preparation to welcome the 2025 season. This indication was seen in two trial matches against Borneo Hornbills and Rans Bogor. Where Antoni Erga et al managed to beat them with a score of 59-54 and 59-50 respectively.
"Yes, even though our squad is very minimal now, we can prove that we can still win. And most importantly, don't make that an excuse, because in Satria Muda our ultimate goal is always victory, whether during official matches or trial matches like this," said Erga.
The player from Bangka feels that one of the important factors in their two victories in these trial matches is the increasingly solid communication between players. Because they have played together for a long time, so they understand each other.
"In addition, because we already know each other's abilities, so the trust between players has finally grown again over time and I think that is very good as our capital to face the next season," he said
"And besides that, I also hope that the players who returned from the Indonesian National Team are healthy and none are injured so that we can return to being a complete team. Because I am sure that when it comes to adapting to the SM system, they will definitely be able to do it quickly, because no matter what, they are the main core of this team. So of course I can't wait to train again with our more complete squad," continued the UKSW Salatiga graduate.
However, even though they were able to win against two fellow teams participating in the highest caste of the Indonesian basketball league, Erga still feels that there are things that need to be improved. Especially regarding physicality.
"That's the main thing because we know that our league will remain the same in terms of rules next season. So like it or not, we have to be ready to play physically with foreign players. But once again I have no doubts about our quality and discipline in SM and in my opinion the two advantages in this trial are a signal that SM will be more dangerous next year," he concluded.
