There are several things that seem inseparable from sports, one of which is tattoos.
The clearest example is how the world's elite athletes tattoo themselves with the Olympic rings symbol. Apart from being a sign that they have competed in the world's biggest multi-event event, the tattoo also means the hard work and achievements they made in that event.
In basketball itself, tattoos and athletes have been intersecting for a long time. You could even say that now it has become like a binding culture. Quoted from the site Andaspace.com, the rate of NBA basketball players who have tattoos has even reached 55%.
In Satria Muda itself, there is one name that has a quite unique tattoo. It depicts a lion but is covered in an Indian crown. The owner is Artem Pustovyi, a tall, towering man from Ukraine.
Artem said that the tattoo was made three years ago in Serbia, his wife's hometown, when he was on holiday from European basketball competitions.
“I saw a picture of this lion ten years ago, but I forget exactly where. But this is a good picture, that's why this picture always remains in my memory. And when the time came without hesitation I chose this image to be on my body forever. "And if you get closer, you will see Roman numerals marked with the date, month and year of my first child's birth," he said.
This man, who is also a member of the Ukrainian national team, explained that initially he felt that he did not want to continue with the tattoo on the chest area. It was because the pain was excruciating.
“It's true that when the needle reached the very center of the chest it felt very painful, like hell haha. I thought about stopping but it was impossible because it was already half done haha. And when it was all done, the results were very satisfying. "And why is it on my chest, that's because I feel this tattoo can only be enjoyed and understood by me," continued Artem.
When asked if he wanted to add another tattoo, Artem said maybe because he is now in Indonesia, a country which is also famous for its traditional tattoo art. Stretches widely from Mentawai to Papua.
“I am very impressed with the tattoo art you have. And I know that using traditional methods, it might hurt but it's certainly fun if I have it. "But for now it's time to focus on the playoffs, because it would be perfect if the traditional tattoo I made here was a symbol of the trophy for Satria Muda haha," he concluded.
